I think it would be a very successful airport route, but that would require a zone fare to avoid busting the MTA's budget. Since the MTA doesn't like zones, it should run an X89 using express buses deadheading to/from Manhattan to provide this service at the express bus price point. $7 is a good value to/from EWR and they can utilize the luggage bays on the buses.I have a plan to run EWR and Jersey Gardens together, but I need a bigger fleet to do it. For Jersey City, it would have to be an offshoot of the 10 to work (as you pointed out) originating at JSQ. It can work, but the Newark Bay Bridge would be my biggest concern. With the projected private bus discontinuations coming up soon, I am not sure NJT will have the bus operators to offer such a service right now. |
