The challenge with prioritizing Bayonne over Jersey City and extending the S89 is that, according to 2021 Census On The Map data, most EWR workers in the Jersey City/Bayonne region live along the 119 route between 32nd Street in Bayonne and Charles Street in Jersey City. For those traveling between Journal Square and Charles Street, it is often quicker to take the PATH to Newark and then transfer to a bus or train to EWR, or simply drive, as this area lies north of the PATH train. It is better to focus south of Journal Square and either create a branch of the 10 route to EWR, or extend the Bergen Avenue 8 route to EWR. |
