The MTA once considered buying mafia property on Fountain Ave

Posted by LuchAAA on Tue May 7 21:03:31 2024

Approximately 20 years ago, the MTA was looking for property in East New York for buses. Not as a depot for regular buses. I think it was for storage of equipment.

The Carneglia Brothers were members of The Gambino crime family and two of Gotti's most loyal assassins.

Over the years there have been many mafia members who cooperated with the FBI. Rats. In many cases their cooperation resulted in a mafia graveyard excavation. Sometimes bodies are found and several took place in East New York and City Line.

Realistically there was a good chance that a mob rat would trigger an FBI excavation there. Supposedly this was one of the reasons why the MTA passed on buying the real estate.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a dig there. There must be some bodies buried there.
